New Year's Wish

Wed Dec 30, 2009, 8:12 PM
Hi guys.

Odd request. My plans for a New Year's party have fallen through and the past week has been tense with my family. It's been a lot of stress and arguments lately (it's an odd situation), so I ask for one thing if you can: Pray for my family. I love them all and want them to be happy together as a family. Even if the party was cancelled, we can hopefully start the New Year with some peace.

On a much lighter note, I'd like to list my fave movies of the year and recommend them all if you like some good entertainment (thanks to :iconstudiobueno: for the idea).

5. "Harry Potter 6": It didn't surprise me as much as the fifth movie, but I enjoyed it all the same. One part silly rom-com and two parts suspense. Very entertainig for the Rowling fans.

4. "Taken": For those fans of 24 who believe that Jack Bauer hasn't been the badass he could be. Excellent action movie all the way through, Liam Neeson is one intimidating individual. :fear:

3. "District 9": An interesting take on both aproaches: the alien story and the style delivery of the movie. Exhaustingly tense, but it keeps you gripped throughout. And it's not a sequel too!

1 (tie). "Up": The first Pixar movie I initially looked forward to in a long time, and it delivered on entertainment, story and emotion. Charming in all aspects of the word, and very funny to boot when it wanted to be funny. One of Pixar's best, really.

1 (tie). "Star Trek": Please note I had NEVER seen a full anything of the previous Star Trek media, and I came into this as a skeptic, and it blew me away! Lots of action, interesting and well defined characters and some good humor thrown in for kicks. I never thought I could say it, but I saw and really enjoyed a Star Trek movie. It's not for an emotional awakening, it's just for a kickass good time.

So there you have it. Have a wonderful New Year's, and hopefully see you sometime in O'10!

Cold-Blooded Lobsta Killa

Thu Dec 24, 2009, 5:47 AM
You read the title right! It means only one thing of course: Christmas Eve! I've been asked to take over some very important parts of the family Christmas Eve dinner this year (lobstas, sauce that needs to be prepared days in advance, stuffing, fried dough, etc), so I've learned from the master chef (my grandma  ) herself and have taken down to notes some half-century-old recipes. At least it's comforting to know I can cook if worse comes to worst in terms of the job search.

So far during break, it's been a combo of shovelling snow, finding presents for family and finding jobs for myself for summer. I've felt happy to be back home after a rough semester, but I'll be back there early for a winter sci-fi class (done only by sorta-choice, long story).

As for the artwork, I have a few remaining pieces I did during the last leg of the semester that should be up sometime later this week or next. Maybe it's the fact that I've been busy the past week, but no artwork has been drawn in over a week now. Living on borrowed art I suppose.

Oh, and if you haven't thought about it yet, head over to :icongranitoons: and participate in his year-end review, it was fun to do on this side. And no, I wasn't paid to say that. The large bag beside me is my laundry. Just go!

I've slapped you people with enough Christmastime cheerful-ness over the past week, but this is the last one: Merry Christmas! There, I'm done! :lmao:

Snow!

Sat Dec 5, 2009, 11:25 PM
It's been over a month. Wow. Have I done anything since then (aside from Thanksgving?). Hmmmm....

Went to my first wedding (a cousin's). :)
Got Skype and chatted with DA friends for the first time! (agentc24 if you wanna chat!)
Got my first commission for Christmas cards!
Came back to improv acting to perform with my improv troupe for a Christmas show today.
Survived both an onslaught of group projects and essays! BUSINESS ESSAYS! :ohnoes:
Lost inspiration but gained markers! :hmm:
Saw Up and thought it was another winner all around!  Two thumbs up!
And it snowed for the first time today! :w00t:

So aside from my personal endeavors, I'm glad to let you know that both Kickline: S'No Show and the cartoon Christmas card for this year are sketched, inked and colored! :D All I need is a scanner and you'll get to see my messages of Christmas to all of you. Thanks for the vote of support for he ideas last month as well. I feel like I'e gained a lot of friendship over this year and I have a lot to be thankful for around here. :thanks:

Like a WalMart Superstore!!!

Mon Nov 2, 2009, 2:01 PM
I am beginning Christmas pictures. :lmao: Don't worry, the FINISHED products WILL NOT be posted until December (when I'm done with my fall courses). I promise you that. I will post one preview for one thing, but that's it!

On a more serious note, I am hoping to draw two group pics for this Christmas: one for the circle of cartoonists (you know who you are if you talk to me)and one for my FAC-DA friends (either the ones who made the jump from FAC or those who follow my non-cartoon art).

My big question to you guys is this: Do any of you OBJECT to being included in one of these pics? I am very serious since I've had friends in the past who are NOT fans of Christmas and were not very happy with seasonal well-wishes. So if you do not want to be a part, just let me know and I will take note when I am inking the already penciled sketches.

Aside from that, I'm putting on my helmet for the home stretch of my classes. Midterms are gone but projects abound! :ohnoes: Aside from the above mentioned projects, I don't know what else to do right now. Maybe a few car sketch ideas I've had for a while and a comic short or two. Who knows?

I hope you all had a good Halloween and most likely a good Thanksgiving (if you're from around these parts). Take care and enjoy the fall weather!

FAC-AgentC will return... Or get owned by his classes.

Movin' Right Along

Tue Oct 20, 2009, 5:48 PM
I might as well let you know, since I made a big deal about it a few weeks ago. The edit board of the newspaper I worked for let me go after about two weeks of service. :( The new comic section was deemed "neither essential nor outstanding" to take up its own section, so it's back to one comic in the editorial section with the already present cartoonist. It was an interesting and humbling experience for my artwork. Thanks again for your support, you did indirectly give the campus some comedy, if but for a brief time. Back to thinking about business ethics and auditing...

It's been a busy time getting my butt kicked by my business classes. I have had little time to spend with my good friends, and the pressure is on to perform at the right time (now time, that is). I'll see what I can do with art and inspiration, not really sure what to do after the first paragraph though. If I fail to comment immediately, wait till the weekend. I'll try to be as friendly as I can here.

With all this swirling and tense action going on, I have broken out my old Charlie Brown Christmas album. Peace and Vince Guaraldi instrumentals are relaxing, I wish I used it a bit earlier.
