Odd request. My plans for a New Year's party have fallen through and the past week has been tense with my family. It's been a lot of stress and arguments lately (it's an odd situation), so I ask for one thing if you can: Pray for my family. I love them all and want them to be happy together as a family. Even if the party was cancelled, we can hopefully start the New Year with some peace.
On a much lighter note, I'd like to list my fave movies of the year and recommend them all if you like some good entertainment (thanks to
5. "Harry Potter 6": It didn't surprise me as much as the fifth movie, but I enjoyed it all the same. One part silly rom-com and two parts suspense. Very entertainig for the Rowling fans.
4. "Taken": For those fans of 24 who believe that Jack Bauer hasn't been the badass he could be. Excellent action movie all the way through, Liam Neeson is one intimidating individual.
3. "District 9": An interesting take on both aproaches: the alien story and the style delivery of the movie. Exhaustingly tense, but it keeps you gripped throughout. And it's not a sequel too!
1 (tie). "Up": The first Pixar movie I initially looked forward to in a long time, and it delivered on entertainment, story and emotion. Charming in all aspects of the word, and very funny to boot when it wanted to be funny. One of Pixar's best, really.
1 (tie). "Star Trek": Please note I had NEVER seen a full anything of the previous Star Trek media, and I came into this as a skeptic, and it blew me away! Lots of action, interesting and well defined characters and some good humor thrown in for kicks. I never thought I could say it, but I saw and really enjoyed a Star Trek movie. It's not for an emotional awakening, it's just for a kickass good time.
So there you have it. Have a wonderful New Year's, and hopefully see you sometime in O'10!
